Embarked on a trip to Bangkok with the sister on 28th Oct!
First time flying with Scoots. Thanks to uncle and bro for sending us to Airport. Reached bkk at night and wanted to get a sim card but the lady was so unfriendly and my phone was 'locked' by Singtel. Oh well.
We stayed at Bangkok Loft Inn after some research and was surprised with their ranking on tripadvisor. Not any big brand or company but was ranked 14 out of 718 hotels. So we decided to give it a try! It was only $44 per night for 2 pax. HAHAHAHA! CHEAPER THAN HOTEL 81 HERE I THINK! We got free transport from the hotel too, felt like king n queen. We saved money and avoided those irritating taxi drivers that tried to pull tourists into their taxi.
Upon reaching, I was 'wow'ed with their service. Not any glamorous, very homely but service was top notch. Seriously. Welcome drink and the staff immediately took out their name card and details in thai in case we got lost. They had customized their map to help u navigate around as well. They did everything before u could ask for! AWWW! Honestly, we did not pin very high expectation for the price we paid but the room was so so so cosy!!! It was huge and clean! Everything u see in 5* hotel, they have it too except for a bathtub.
We were so hungry and decided to roam around the streets. Had chicken rice, fried sotong, cabbage soup for late dinner. Not the best meal to start our trip but glad we filled our empty stomach. People can hardly understand english so even ordering food can be a challenge. We saw chicken so we just pointed to it and it turned out to be chicken rice. HAHAHA! Their 7-11 is a good place to grab some food cause everything was cheap there!
Back to hotel to rest and we managed to switch to some taiwan channel so our ears were spared from the funny language! :D
